Resident Evil Story

In 1998, members of elite S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team are sent into the Arklay Mountains near Raccoon City to investigate a series of bizarre murders. The helicopter crash survivors, Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine (players’ choice), look for shelter in an abandoned mansion. Inside, they find the mansion full of zombies and mutated beasts, the result of secret bio-weapon experiments of the Umbrella Corporation. Players will have to discover the dark secrets of this mansion, survive the unyielding horrors and escape alive while putting together what really happened to the Umbrella research team.

Resident Evil Gameplay

It follows the classic Resident Evil formula of survival horror, puzzle-solving and resource management. The trademark of the original game: fixed camera angles to build tension by limiting the player’s view. Knife-fighting sequences, herb-mixing and reloading all utilize touch-screen mechanics, adding a unique layer that was missing in the original PS1 version. It features two exclusive control schemes: The classic tank-control scheme, and a newer touch-based control system. The series’ first wireless multiplayer mode allows players to fight each other using Nintendo DS wireless connectivity. When facing enemies, it’s important to conserve ammo, as running out of resources can leave players very vulnerable. The “Rebirth” mode introduces entirely new rooms, enemies and cutscenes to the original story, only available in this remake.
