How to Play Classic NES Series: The Legend of Zelda ROM Download

Getting Started Link has no weapons and only his life force when you start. Your first task is to find the Wooden Sword, hidden in a cave near your starting point (go into any suspicious cave entrance on the opening screen and you will find it). Link can't attack without a sword, so this is the important first step. Simple Controls & Moves Move Link in four directions (up, down, left, right) in the overworld and in dungeons. Press the action button to attack the enemy with your equipped sword. Once equipped from the inventory, use secondary items (boomerang, bombs, bow, etc) with a separate button. Switch between the collected tools at the inventory/item select screen. The Overworld You Find Hyrule’s overworld is split into a grid of interconnected screens. Walk to the end of a screen to move to the next. Some areas are blocked by obstacles (trees, rocks, water) that require specific items to get past. For example, you need bombs to blow up cracked walls, or a raft to cross water. Burn bushes with candles, push some rocks or bomb suspicious walls to find secret staircases, shops or dungeon entrances. Collect Rupees (currency) from grass, enemies and hidden locations. Spend them at shops to buy items, extra bombs and potions. Dungeons Hyrule has nine dungeons . Each dungeon contains a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom . Each dungeon is a maze of interconnected rooms populated with enemies, puzzles, traps and treasure. Killing certain enemies or solving room puzzles (pushing blocks, using certain items, etc) will open a path to new rooms. Every dungeon ends with a boss battle and beating the boss gives you a Triforce piece. Some locked doors require keys to be opened, which can be found in dungeons. Fighting Tips Head-on attacks are good against weaker enemies, but most enemies must be fought with ranged items (boomerang, bow, bombs) or specific strategies to be defeated efficiently. Link’s health is represented by heart containers, and collecting hidden Heart Containers throughout dungeons will permanently increase Link’s health pool. You can find fairies in ponds or secluded areas, and they may heal health when you get near them. AIM Link collects all eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom . This gives him access to Ganon's lair . The goal is to defeat Ganon, reclaim the Triforce in its entirety, and rescue Princess Zelda, thus ending the game .
