Pokémon Platinum Version is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. The game was released in North America on March 22, 2009, and is an improved version of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl with an expanded adventure across the Sinnoh region. In Pokémon Platinum, the player embarks on a journey to become a Pokémon Champion through exploring the Sinnoh region and completing the Pokédex. The player picks a starting Pokémon and travels all over Sinnoh , battling Gym Leaders and assembling a team of Pokémon . During the adventure, the criminal organization Team Galactic schemes about legendary Pokémon and about the nature of space and time. Platinum continues the story of Diamond and Pearl with a greater emphasis on Giratina and adds the mysterious Distortion World, an odd dimension outside the normal laws of time and space. The story also introduces new scenarios featuring other legendary Pokemon and Team Galactic. The main adventure eventually points toward the Pokémon League, and there are more challenges and activities to do after finishing the main story. In fact, Nintendo cites the Distortion World and Giratina’s Origin Forme as the key additions in Platinum.
