As part of the HeartGold and SoulSilver series, Pokemon HeartGold Version is a Nintendo DS remake of the original Pokemon Gold (Game Boy Color). It blends nostalgic tale with contemporary DS-era elements like the Pokewalker device, improved graphics, and a Pokemon-following-you function. It is set in the Johto region with post-game access to Kanto. In the mainline Pokemon series, it is still one of the most cherished entries.

Pokemon: HeartGold Version Story

At Pokemon HeartGold, a young Trainer begins their adventure at the Johto region's New Bark Town. Professor Elm gives the player a starter Pokemon (Totodile, Cyndaquil, or Chikorita), and the player's goal is to defeat the eight Johto Gym Leaders, obtain badges, and get into the Pokemon League at Indigo Plateau. Along the way, the plot introduces Team Rocket, a criminal group trying to resurrect themselves after losing the original Red/Blue plot, and a rival trainer who continuously tests the player. A significant subplot consists of Team Rocket's plan to seize control of Goldenrod City's Radio Tower and their larger plan involving Legendary Pokemon. HeartGold's post-game content is one of its most notable aspects. After winning the title of Champion of Johto, players can go to the nearby Kanto region, fight the original Gym Leaders, and ultimately engage in one of the most famous post-game battles in Pokemon history with Red, the main character of the original games, atop Mount Silver. The game's mythology revolves around rainbow wings and the Tin Tower, and Ho-Oh, the fabled Pokemon, has a major thematic significance.
