Chrono Trigger ROM (NDS) Download Story

The story is about a young man named Crono who befriends a girl named Marle at his town’s Millennial Fair. During a teleportation experiment Marle is suddenly sucked into a time portal and Crono follows her through different eras, the prehistoric age, a mediaeval kingdom, the present day and a dystopian future where civilisation has collapsed. The main villain is Lavos, a gigantic parasitic alien creature that crashed to Earth thousands of years ago, and has been quietly absorbing energy underground, biding its time until it can burst forth and destroy the world in the future. Players travel through different time periods alongside Crono's friends – Marle, Lucca, Frog, Robo, Ayla, and Magus – forming alliances, discovering the truth of Lavos, and altering history to prevent the apocalypse. The unique aspect of this story is how the actions of players in one era ripple forward and alter events in later eras. This “butterfly effect” mechanic was surprisingly ahead of its time, for a 1995 JRPG.

Chrono Trigger ROM (NDS) Download Gameplay

Battle System Core: In most RPGs you have random encounters, but Chrono Trigger DS ROM places enemies right on its map, with an Active Time Battle (ATB) system – so you can run away from fights you don’t want to take on. Technology Combinations: This is the signature of the game. Each character has unique "Techs" (special abilities) but when two or three characters combine their techs they unleash powerful Dual Tech or Triple Tech attacks that do significantly more damage than solo moves. Time Travel Mechanism: Players move through five major Epoch (time machine) epochs: 65,000,000 BC – Prehistoric era, dinosaurs and the Reptite civilisation 12,000 BC – The Kingdom of Zeal, an advanced magic-based civilization 600 AD – The medieval Kingdom of Guardia 1000 AD – The present day 2300 AD – A post-apocalyptic future ravaged by Lavos New Game+ After completing the game once, the player can start a New Game+, in which all levels and items are carried over. This allows the player to go through the game's many different endings based on when the player chooses to confront Lavos.

How to Play Chrono Trigger ROM (NDS) Download

Explore the map: lead your party to towns, fields and dungeons. Enemies seen on the map can be approached to fight or avoided altogether. Speak to NPCs: converse with the locals for clues, side-quests and lore that links different time periods. Go to war: click on an enemy on the map to begin a turn based ATB battle, each character has an action gauge that fills up over time before they can take a turn. Actions: When it is a character’s turn select Attack, Tech, Item or Defend. Tech Combos: Combine the turns of two or three characters to perform Dual/Triple Tech attacks for more damage. Change Your Playstyle: Switch between your six playable characters at save points or during key story moments to suit your playstyle. Progress the story: key story events trigger time travel to a new era via the Epoch; some areas require items or party members from other eras to unlock. Save your game: use save points (or emulator save states) on a regular basis, particularly before boss fights. Defeat Lavos: after progressing through the story and gathering strength, confront the final boss; when and how you do this determines which ending you get.

Chrono Trigger ROM (NDS) Download Installation Guide

Download the emulator – always download from the romlibrary.com. Install/Extract – install the emulator or extract it if you are using a portable one. BIOS files (if needed) – Some emulators (like for PS1) require a BIOS file, and it should only be extracted from a console. Load your legally owned ROM – Open up the emulator and load the game file that you dumped yourself from your own cartridge/disc. Set up controls – go into emulator settings and map buttons to your keyboard or controller. Configure Save States - use the emulator's save state feature to save/load your progress at any time. Adjust graphics/audio settings – change filters, resolution scaling and shaders for the best visual experience.
