Shinobi Story

Shinobi follows the story of a ninja clan hunted by an evil organization called "Oboro". Joe Musashi is our hero, on a quest to save his ninja village and rescue kidnapped clan members. Each level has different enemy groups, boss battles and traps Joe has to face, as he makes his way to the leader of Oboro. The simple but compelling story provides strong motivation for the game – revenge, rescue, ninja honour – a bit of all three.

Shinobi Gameplay

Shinobi’s gameplay is fast, skill and combo based: The player navigates side-scrolling levels with enemies firing at him from all angles. Joe is also able to throw shuriken, allowing him to attack at range, as well as basic melee attacks. There are also special "Ninja Magic" moves that clear all enemies from the screen, but these are limited in number. Each level ends with a tough boss fight, each boss having their own attack patterns. This game is all about timing and precision, reckless attacking is a good way to get yourself killed very quickly. The game's difficulty curve is steep and it's a true retro action challenge.
