Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Picking up one year after the events of Aria of Sorrow, Soma Cruz is enjoying a quiet life in Japan when a strange cult known as Ecclesia, led by the priestess Celia Fortner, begins to hunt him. The cult believes Soma is the reincarnation of Dracula and are determined to force him to accept his dark powers, or kill him and find another vessel. Soma finds himself in a new castle rising from the earth to fight the cult and find out the truth about himself. Aided by allies Genya Arikado, Yoko Belnades and Mina Hakuba, Soma battles his way through the castle's twisted halls absorbing enemy souls to increase his own power while resisting the temptation to succumb to Dracula's power and become the very evil he was born to destroy.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow builds on Aria of Sorrow’s beloved Tactical Soul System, and adds new touch screen mechanics: Soul Collecting: Kill enemies for a chance to absorb their souls, which will give you new attacks, abilities or passive bonuses (Bullet Souls, Guardian Souls, Enchant Souls and Ability Souls). Magic Seal System: Players have to draw a certain symbol on the touchscreen within a time limit to deliver the finishing blow and completely absorb the soul of a boss they have killed. Metroidvania Exploration: A giant interconnected map of a castle with rooms that are locked until you get a new ability (double jump, wall kick, etc). Levelling & Equipment: Classic RPG levelling, with weapons, armour and accessories for customising Soma's build. Julius Mode - An unlockable mode that allows the player to play as Julius Belmont, with the classic Castlevania whip combat instead of the soul system.

Start a new game, and play through the introductory story sequence, which introduces Soma Cruz and the Ecclesia cult. Move with the D-Pad and jump, attack and use sub-weapons with the action buttons. Kill enemies all over the castle to have a chance to receive their souls - use these souls to gain new abilities. Explore the castle in great detail using your new skills to enter rooms and secret areas that were previously inaccessible. Manage your inventory - equip weapons, armour and souls that suit your playstyle (offensive, defensive or magic based). If you are fighting a boss, draw the correct Magic Seal symbol shown on-screen on the touchscreen in the time limit to end the fight. You can save your progress at candle/save points, and use warp rooms to teleport around the castle. Advance through the story and its many possible endings depending on the choices and actions of the player.
