Bomberman's Story Mode adheres to the classic franchise premise: Bomberman DS ROM, a friendly robot from Planet Bomber, travels through a series of themed worlds to stop an evil force threatening peace. Players battle waves of enemies along the way, collect power-ups and battle boss characters at the end of each world. It’s not the focus and a light story, but it provides a fun setting for the core bombing-and-puzzle gameplay that takes place through progressive, more difficult stages with destructible terrain, enemy patterns and environmental hazards.

Bomberman for the Nintendo DS modernises the classic maze bombing gameplay with social features and modern conveniences: Story Mode: Defeat enemies and bosses using strategically placed bombs as you fight your way through a series of themed worlds and stages. Bomb Mechanics: Use bombs to kill enemies and blow up soft blocks (to reveal power-ups) in the explosion radius – but not your own explosion. Power-Ups Collect items to increase number of bombs, blast range, speed and special abilities like kicking or throwing bombs. Battle Mode: Play the series’ classic multiplayer mode, Battle Mode, in explosive last-Bomberman-standing arena matches with up to 8 players (over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or local wireless). Stage Variety: Story and Battle modes are enriched by multiple arena configurations and themed level sets. Online Play: Supports online multiplayer battles via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (legacy) . Local wireless play supported.

Game Modes There are two game modes . Story Mode allows you to play the game by yourself . Battle Mode allows you to play multiplayer matches . Select Story Mode from the main menu to play the game by yourself . Use the D-Pad to navigate Bomberman Nintendo DS around the maze-like stage. You place a bomb by pressing a button , after a short delay it will explode and destroy any blocks or enemies in the blast radius . Move away from your own bomb quickly, to avoid getting caught in the blast. Pop soft blocks to reveal secret power-ups – grab them to increase your bomb count, blast length, movement speed or to get special abilities. Clear each stage by defeating all enemies (or reaching the exit) and progress through the world. At the end of each world you will face a boss with your inventory of power-ups and your bombing strategy. Outlast opponents by trapping them in bomb blasts while avoiding their bombs in Battle mode – the last Bomberman standing wins the round.

Go to the romlibrary.com of your preferred emulator (melonDS, DeSmuME, DraStic or RetroArch) and download it. Follow the on-screen setup instructions for your operating system to install the emulator. Set up BIOS files (needed for melonDS/DeSmuME) according to the official documentation of the emulator. Open your legally-owned game file from the emulator's "Open ROM" or "Load Game" menu. Tune settings – resolution, frame skip, audio – to have smooth, responsive bomb placement timing. Map your controls (see keybindings below) or plug in a controller for the most authentic handheld experience. Click Start/Play to launch Bomberman and your bombastic adventure.
