Super Mario World

The story begins with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Toadstool (Peach) taking a vacation in Dinosaur Land. They soon find out that Bowser and his seven Koopalings have kidnapped Princess Toadstool and captured the local dinosaurs including Yoshi's friends into eggs. Mario travels through the many themed lands of Dinosaur Land - forests, deserts, ghost houses and castles - defeating the Koopalings one by one to free the captured dinosaurs, and finally face Bowser to save the Princess.

Super Mario World is an enhancement of classic Mario platforming, with some new mechanics: Players run, jump and use power-ups to advance through side-scrolling levels set across multiple themed worlds. Start at a level from the overworld map. Run and jump over platforms with directional movement avoiding enemies and hazards. Gain new powers by collecting power-ups such as Mushrooms, Fire Flowers and Feathers. Keep an eye out for Yoshi Eggs — ride on Yoshi’s back to devour enemies and gain new ways to move. Go off the main path or check out suspicious blocks to find secret exits. Use Yoshi and the cape to reach hidden areas. In order to advance, you must defeat the Koopaling boss at the end of each of the worlds’ castles. Travel through the various worlds of Dinosaur Land until you reach Bowser’s castle for the final showdown.
