Style Savvy doesn’t have a typical linear plot, but does have a light narrative framework to guide the player’s advancement: The player arrives in a developing town and is offered the opportunity to start their own boutique, starting from humble beginnings of a shop and a few items. As the player progresses, a friendly, more experienced fashion mentor (a senior boutique owner in town) provides advice, story-driven missions and challenges. Customers with different tastes, budgets, and personalities visit the store, each with unique style requests — ranging from casual everyday wear to elegant formal outfits. Each time a player scores a hit and sells clothing, their reputation grows, opening up new districts, rival boutiques, exclusive clothing brands and eventually the opportunity to compete in town-wide fashion competitions. The overall “story” is really the player’s journey from an unknown shopkeeper to the most famous fashion designer/boutique owner in town.
