Rhythm Heaven (US) Story

Rhythm Heaven does not have a traditional, linear storyline, as you would find in an RPG or adventure game. Instead, it’s a collection of rhythm-based mini-games, broken up into various “stages.” Every stage has its little theme or scenario. Like teaching monkeys how to play drums, running a robot factory assembly line or performing with cheerleaders. All of these activities are tied together by a playful comedic tone in which the player’s only real task is to stay perfectly in sync with the beat. Rhythm Heaven ROM The general aim is easy - gain a high score/rank in each of the mini-games to finish the full game and unlock hidden bonus content.

Rhythm Heaven (US) Gameplay

Rhythm Heaven’s gameplay is simple: You have a musical beat to follow in the game. You have to press the correct button in time with the beat. The control scheme is always minimal but each mini-game has its own rules and visual cues. The more accurate timing, the higher the score (e.g. "Superb" if timing is perfect) and missed timing will get you a lower score. There is a "Remix" stage every few mini-games which takes elements from previous games. The game progressively gets harder and harder, with later stages challenging your reflexes and pattern recognition skills.

How to Play Rhythm Heaven (US)

Select a new scene from the Main Menu. Prior to each mini-game, a brief tutorial explains which button to push and when. When the music begins, pay attention to visual cues on the screen (such as flashing icons or movements of characters). Hit the A button (or whatever key you have mapped that to) exactly on the beat, not before or after. Upon finishing the stage you’ll get a rank: Good. OK. Try Again. If you get "Try Again" repeat the stage until you get "OK" or "Superb". Each time you complete a set of stages you unlock a new section with more mini-games and toys. Tip: Try to focus on the sound, audio clues, rather than visual clues, usually gives better timing results.
