Animal Crossing - Wild World

There is no real plot – the ‘story’ is your own journey. The game starts with the player arriving by train in a brand new village, where a raccoon-like shopkeeper named Tom Nook offers a modest starter home in exchange for a loan. From there, the player is free to create their own experience: exploring the village, meeting a rotating cast of animal villagers, decorating their house, and slowly paying off their debt to expand their home. Seasonal events (holidays, weather changes, fishing tournaments, bug-catching contests) occur in real time soon enough, tied to the DS system’s internal clock and calendar. Villagers come and go, friendships grow in the course of daily life, and the “story” is whatever the player wants it to be — gathering fossils for the museum, maintaining a garden or simply talking to neighbors.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is an open-ended life simulator. Its core loops are: Real-Time Clock – The in-game world is synced to the date and time on your DS system clock, and this impacts on the weather, seasons, shop hours and events. Fishing & Bug Catching – Catch different species to sell or donate to the town museum. Home Customization – Decorate and expand your house using furniture, wallpaper, and flooring. Villager Interaction - Talk to your neighbors each day to befriend them, receive gifts and unlock conversation/events. Shopping & Economy – Sell items for Bells, the in-game currency, and purchase furniture, clothing and home loans. Museum Collection – Donate fish, bugs and fossils to stock the town museum’s exhibits. Local & Wi-Fi Connectivity – Visit friends’ towns or trade items using local wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (on supported systems)

Install a DS emulator for your device (e.g. melonDS for PC, DraStic for Android). Load your required BIOS/firmware files if your emulator requires them (melonDS recommends real DS BIOS + firmware for proper real-time clock and Wi-Fi behavior). Make sure the internal clock/date settings of the emulator you are using are set to real life time to properly sync seasons and events. Set screen layout (top / bottom or side by side) and video scaling options. Set your controls (see table). Open your emulator , go to " Open ROM " / " Load Game " and select the game file . Use ingame saving (your character's home/bed, when prompted) - do not rely on save states alone for long term progress as this game's save data is calendar sensitive.
